Cancer Institute NSW – 2025 Report
Government Report
I was commissioned by the Cancer Institute NSW (part of the Department of Health NSW) to produce their Annual Report 2025. This was their key report for the year which communicated their main achievements, a wealth of data, and the strategic direction of cancer control across NSW for the year.
The brief was to create a document that was professional, easy to read, and visually compelling, that would present the work and impact of the Cancer Institute NSW and their partners to stakeholders in an engaging manner. The report also needed to reinforce the NSW Government branding, and build on previous years’ reports, while finding opportunities for updated design and visual presentation.
As the content was quite dense with detail and data, I developed a visual style that leveraged off the Government branding, while giving us plenty of scope to add data points, quotes, icons, and graphics to help break up the text and ensure that even skim-readers would easily absorb the key achievements and messages from the report.
The report was tabled in parliament and distributed to senior stakeholders including health ministers and executive-level health professionals. The report was very well received, and feedback was extremely positive:
- The client said “I came into the office today just to get my hands on the Cancer in NSW report – it’s beautiful!! I’m so proud of the report. Such a wonderful collaboration and smooth process.”
- Cancer consumer organisation Chair replied via email: “CINSW does these so well, so much information presented in an easy to follow format. A great reference resource. I need to go back and take in at a slower pace.”
- An international cancer organisation CEO replied on LinkedIn post “Congratulations on a beautifully designed and compelling report on the state of cancer in NSW! Love the focus on equity and the patient/person experience.”
