I was commissioned to create a suite of materials for Youth Justice Conferencing (part of the Department of Communities and Justice) to help staff, young people and their families and carers to navigate the Conferencing system. The materials included a 52pp handbook, a series of factsheets and a DL flyer with general information for young people about what a Conference was, the benefits of the process, and what to expect. 

The handbook condensed several policies and procedures into one simple, easy to use, reference document and included interactive elements in the final PDF so that users could add their own notes and comments as they worked through the process. To assist staff in navigating the handbook, I created a clear visual language and colour coding so that they could easily find the information that was relevant to them.

The design needed to work within the NSW State Government brand guidelines, but have it’s own distinct personality that was professional but still approachable and friendly.
